Lightscape Technologies Provides LED Lighting Solutions to New World Centre for Upcoming Promotions
HONG KONG -- Dec 3, 2008/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lightscape Technologies Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: LTSC), a provider of innovative lighting design solutions, advanced lighting products and customized energy management solutions, today announced that the company has provided LED lighting solutions to the New World Centre ('NWC') in Hong Kong for its 'Taste of France' and holiday season promotions.
The NWC is an upscale multi-use complex situated on Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour. NWC features a gross floor area of approximately 2.5 million square feet, a 6-storey shopping mall, two office towers, a 518-room serviced apartment tower and a 543-room hotel. NWC's exterior facade features an LED lighting display from the 4th to 14th floors. The NWC is owned by New World Development Company Limited, a major property owner and developer in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China.
The 'Taste of France' project involved Lightscape's design and authoring of French-themed lighting shows to play on NWC's existing LED lighting hardware on the building's exterior facade. Lightscape also provided LED lighting design and hardware installed in the main entrance area of the NWC, including LED lighting effects displayed on a 50-foot replica of the Eiffel Tower. In addition, Lightscape's design team will also provide Christmas and New Year content authoring to be played on the building's exterior facade during the upcoming holiday season.
The LED lighting shows and effects designed by Lightscape for the NWC are controlled and played back by Lightscape's LED Multimedia and Video Control System. Lightscape's system consists of PC-based software and LED controller hardware which enables the authoring, control and playback of intricate, large-scale lighting shows. The system is a fully integrated solution which combines various processors, video graphics decoders, solid state electronics and sophisticated built-in intelligence. Lightscape previously installed its LED Multimedia and Video Control System at the NWC in October 2007.
Bondy Tan, President and CEO of Lightscape Technologies commented, 'We are very pleased to continue our relationship with NWC and New World Development Company Limited to provide LED lighting solutions and new content creation for this landmark property in Hong Kong.
In October 2007, NWC selected Lightscape's LED Multimedia and Video Control System for the authoring, control and playback of lighting shows on its 10-storey facade. With the successful results achieved by our initial work on the NWC's 300-day Olympic countdown event, NWC has chosen Lightscape to design additional lighting show content, as well as to provide additional LED lighting solutions.'
Concluded Mr. Tan, 'We look forward to again exceeding NWC's expectations within these new projects, and we expect our performance on the NWC property to serve as a springboard to obtaining additional contracts with other New World Development Company properties in the future.'
